ASK 2020: New to AWM Pioneers?

Serving Jesus, ministering to Arab Muslims, seeing spiritual impact

Our heart for the Arab world

The Arab world lies at the heart of the Muslim world. The vast majority of its people have yet to hear that Jesus died and rose again for them 2,000 years ago. There are only pockets of places in the region with active, public fellowships and in many nations those who choose to follow Jesus will face a life of hardship and opposition. Our heart is that all unreached people groups in the Arab world will hear and respond to the gospel and for each believer from a Muslim background to be equipped to stand firm in their faith for the long-term. We believe the nations of the Arab world are on God’s heart and that He is working behind the scenes to bring new life in Jesus.

Pioneering since 1881

This movement began in the 1880s when a Christian couple travelled to Algeria expecting to share Jesus with the occupying French troops. As they saw the suffering of local people and were moved by someone dying of starvation on their doorstep, God broke their hearts for this area of the world. Others passionate about taking Jesus to the unreached in the region came on board and the ministry has joined with others along the way in its pursuit to make Jesus known. AWM joined the Pioneers International family in 2011 to increase its capacity to serve the region.

Today, around 90 workers are sent from the UK and more than 400 from other parts of the Pioneers family serve among the unreached across North Africa and the Middle East. These workers have all followed God’s call to serve Jesus and minister to Arab Muslims to see spiritual impact.

You can join the prayer movement

We would love for you to join this movement. ASK2020 is an ideal opportunity to start praying for the nations of the Arab world and intercede with us for more people to encounter Jesus. We produce prayer materials to build momentum and resource intercessors to pray all year round. If you would like more information, browse our website or contact our prayer co-ordinator on Mariep@awm-pioneers.org
