OUR DATA PRIVACY PROMISE

Arab World Ministries (AWM-Pioneers) is the Data Controller for personal data about members, retirees, prospective members, enquirers, volunteers and supporters. Our charity and office details are here.

We do not trade personal data for commercial purposes. We will only disclose data if required by law, necessary to support your membership, retiree or alumni status, arrange your short or long-term placement, fulfil our duty of care on pastoral and safeguarding issues, and supporter relations such as mailings and processing donations.

We process personal and sensitive data depending on the need and it is usually based on legitimate interest or with your consent (see below for detail).

AWM uses only EEA-based providers for processing supporters data and only sends supporters data outside EEA-zones if it is necessary for legal reasons or to administer donations and financial transactions. We share information securely with other offices within our international mission family Pioneers.

To contact AWM-Pioneers with a data protection query regarding the processing of your personal data, please use the form on our  GET IN TOUCH page.

Details of our processing

After reviewing all our processes, we believe that all of these purposes are justified on the basis of our legitimate interests in running and promoting the work of AWM-Pioneers; and we have a separate criteria for sending email marketing to supporters which we carry out on the basis of consent. If you would like to read further details based on the type of relationship you have with us, scroll down, click on the relevant section and read more.

Supporters and volunteers

We have supporter data (names, address, contact details) in order to process donations, communicate the impact of the charity and share how people’s prayers, encouragement and resources are making a difference. We send regular print and email supporter publications to share feature articles, profile recommended resources, fundraising appeals and promote ministry opportunities with AWM-Pioneers and like-minded organisations.

  • When you give financially, you will be automatically subscribed to our print magazine and offered our other communication channels. Unless already opted-out, all magazine subscribers are offered a fundraising appeal letter after three magazine issues. Those who have given financially in recent years, will also be given an opportunity to donate again to a similar appeal through a fundraising appeal letter. With every fundraising appeal letter, there is an option of opting out of future appeal letters.
  • We send out regular email newsletters, which communicates the impact of the charity and promotional material related to the ministry. New subscribers join these email mailing groups on consent-only basis either by opt-in for Enthuse or double opt-in for our prayer bulletin prayerline on our website or through contact forms.
