EDITORIAL: Unexpected fruit

How good are you at mathematics?

In Matthew 13, Jesus tells a parable about the various responses to the same gospel message about the Kingdom. Through the illustration of a sower encountering different soils, we learn that some will not initially understand the word, some will show superficial agreement and turn back under pressure, while others get distracted and prove unfruitful. Yet there is a final group that makes the correct conclusion, which results in significant spiritual impact.

A reader’s response:

‘I’ve received awmlink through the post. I pray faithfully through the magazine each time. Thank you for sending it.’ Robert

The word is alive

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty. Matthew 13:23 [ESV]

This magazine profiles examples of the message being received and bearing spiritual fruit in surprising places today. You’ll discover how the word is:

– reaching even violent militants
– being spread rapidly through trained church planters
– bringing hope to desperate people trapped in Yemen’s civil war.
