Become an AWM intern

DEADLINE HAS NOW PASSED (21 JULY 2015)

NEXT INTERNSHIP OPENING: SEPTEMBER 2016-JUNE 2017

What’s your next step in answering God’s call to mission? What better way to explore cross-cultural ministry than by serving with a mission agency?

Arab World Ministries is looking for someone who is stirred by our CORE VALUES and can serve alongside us as an intern for a year. We have two opportunities: one is in our Loughborough office, the other is in Northern Ireland.

Intern quoteThe benefits

Reaching the world’s least-reached peoples with the good news of Jesus Christ requires people like you. AWM has a passion to release the unique calling and vision that the Lord has placed on your heart for those who have not yet heard the gospel.

The intern will be trained and mentored in all areas of the organisation and would have opportunity for practical experience of ministry and mobilisation. Tasks would include administration, student work and, in some cases, public speaking.

You will be able to:

  • build on your current mission experience as you play your part in a vibrant international mission
  • inspire and encourage others to find their place in God’s plan for the nations
  • begin building your prayer and financial support team of friends and church fellowship so they can join you on your journey to mission long-term

The opportunities

As an intern, you will be based at either our UK office in Loughborough, Leicestershire or with our Irish Mobilisation team in Northern Ireland. The role will take into consideration your skills and passions but seek to provide you with a broad experience from a variety of our departments. You can expect to take on a diverse range of tasks such as:

  • assisting the admin of AWM’s short-term Edge programme
  • representing AWM at CU, church mission events, and  Christian conferences
  • helping to provide content for our website and social media with our Editor (Loughborough only)
  • supporting AWM workers by working alongside the member care department (Loughborough only)
  • helping with other office tasks including organising AWM’s mailing needs and relating to supporters (Loughborough only)

The details

The best place to start working out the practical details is to contact us. The year would run from September 2015 – June 2016.

An intern would be required to raise their own financial support to cover their costs. In some instances, it may be possible to find a part-time job locally to help with this. We are happy to provide guidance on how to develop a prayer and financial support team with the successful candidate(s).

How to apply from May 2015

Email HELEN on helenp@awm-pioneers.org requesting an application form for becoming an AWM intern. We can then begin the process of discerning if the Lord is leading you to invest a year with us. We look forward to hearing from you! But remember the application deadline is 21 JULY 2015.
